Hilton Columbus Downtown – Wedding Venue

The Hilton Columbus Downtown is the perfect venue for large weddings or destination weddings. Nestled in the heart of downtown Columbus is by far one of it’s best features. This means you are only steps from all of the top restaurants and social gathering venues. The hotel boasts a staggering 532 traditional rooms and 55 incredible suites for your guests. The venue itself can hold up to 550 seated guests comfortably, making it one of the only locations that can hold that many guests. The best part about having your wedding at a hotel, is that all of your guests are kept safe because its a short walk to their rooms. The hotels design is what I would call contemporary mixed with modern influence. This design lends to any luxurious wedding.

History and the New Hilton Columbus Tower

The Hilton was built in 2012 and designed to meet the rapidly growing downtown Columbus. It’s symbolized that it is the medium in which the Short Arts District will be connected to the Arena District.

The New Hilton Tower hotel is currently under construction next door and will be one of the most highly desired hotels for weddings in 2023. The Tower will have a 15,000 sqft ballroom, spectacular views of downtown from up high, and a “green roof” where they plan to grow their own vegetables. 28 floors tall and the planned opening is fall of 2022 or early 2023.

About the Ceremony & Reception Spaces at the Hilton Columbus

Let’s start with the architectural elements, the overall design is contemporary with a mix of modern flair. Expect to see beautiful staircases, modern feeling rooms, and large ballrooms perfect for even the most sizable weddings. Few of the most notable spaces are as follows:

The Parlor Room

A modern high-end feeling room that would be perfect for your getting ready space. My favorite part of this room is the natural light you get with the floor to ceiling windows. This large room is about the size of two traditional hotel rooms combined, thus making the getting ready process easy. Furthermore, the room is equipped with a private bathroom and plenty of furniture to lounge on.

The George Bellows Ballroom

This is the main attraction of the hotel. It’s actually the largest space available and where up to 550 guests can be seated comfortably. Expect to see tall, inlaid ceilings with gorgeous chandeliers, complemented with carpet that looks like an abstract painting. To fit your design of the wedding, this space can be completely customized.

Elijah Pierce & Emerson Burkhart Rooms

These two rooms are also great options if your wedding is 150 guests or less. These rooms have floor to ceiling windows with plenty of natural light.

The Sky Bridge

Likely the reason you know about the Hilton is that you have seen amazing photographs from this bridge. In the middle of the glass shell is a walkway where I have photographed many couples. This location is my favorite for a couples portrait sessions. Because of the leading lines and geometric polygonal shapes, it creates a interesting space to create art.
